The Local Wishlist is now live! Click Here to start browsing local goodies for everyone on your list.
Thank you to everyone who has shared the 2013 Local Wishlist! Your help has brought in more than 13,500 views and more than 600 social media shares in the first 4 days of the project, and is helping to spread the local love about the many great gifts available from local small businesses.
The Local Wishlist is a great place to find gift ideas sold at small local businesses or made by Nova Scotia artisans and producers. Help keep money in our province during the holiday season by supporting our local small businesses!
In 2012, The Local Traveler launched The Local Wishlist campaign. It was created to showcase great gift ideas available from independently owned local businesses and local producers and to make it easier for shoppers to find and purchase their gifts closer to home.
The 2012 campaign was a big success in its first year:
- Close to 15,000 Views
- 1,000 + social shares and interactions
- 4 traditional media pieces (radio, TV and print)
- Continued hits, exposure and click-throughs throughout 2013 due to search
This year the Local Wishlist has been re-worked into an online catalogue designed to help shoppers find local gift inspiration for everyone on their list, and to showcase local independant businesses and local producers from across Nova Scotia.
If you are a locally owned small business, or a local producer or artisan, and you would like to feature a gift item in the wishlist, contact Gillian at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
If you would like to sponsor the 2013 Local Wishlist, please contact Gillian at email@example.com. Since the 2012 campaign, our social network has grown from around 3,800 to over 24,000, and we are partnering with www.avoidingchores.com this year to bring our social reach to more than 37,000! Our Made In NS Initiative has more than 15% CTR, something we believe is due to a highly engaged audience who is motivated to choose local for at least some of their shopping needs.
We need your help to spread the word about this year’s wishlist – please share our video (above) through your social networks or by email!
